1. Information We Collect

1.1 Location Data

We collect your device's location to find restaurants near you. Location is requested only when you use the app and is never stored on our servers. It is transmitted to Google Places API solely to return nearby restaurant results.

1.2 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address (email/password sign-up)
• Apple-provided identifier (Sign in with Apple — we never receive your real email unless you choose to share it)

1.3 User-Generated Data

When you use premium features, we store:

• Favourites — restaurants you have saved
• History — restaurants you have visited or selected

This data is tied to your account and stored securely in our database.

1.4 Usage Data

We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or behavioural tracking beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Santai integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.

Google Places API

Your approximate location is sent to Google to retrieve nearby restaurant listings. Google may process this data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Gemini

When you view AI-generated menu previews, the restaurant name is sent to Google Gemini to generate a response. No personal data is included in this request.

Supabase

Your account credentials, favourites, and history are stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database provider. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

Apple StoreKit

All subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple. Santai does not receive or store your payment information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Sign in with Apple

If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple authenticates you on our behalf. You may choose to hide your real email address — in that case, Apple provides a relay address. We store only the identifier Apple provides and never receive your Apple ID password.

5. Data Retention

• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• Favourites and history are deleted when you delete your account.
• Location data is never stored — it is used in real time and discarded.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected
• Deletion — request that your account and all associated data be deleted
• Portability — request your data in a portable format

7. Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Settings screen. Upon deletion, your account, favourites, and history are permanently removed from our servers.

8. Children's Privacy

Santai is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
• Encrypted storage via Supabase
• JWT-based authentication with secure session management

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
